Did You Know? In an effort to ensure municipalities are ready for growth, the provincial government announced the Saskatchewan Infrastructure Growth Initiative in the 2008-09 budget. Through the program, municipalities will be able to access $300 million over four years for five-year, interest-free loans to assist with the cost of lot development to support housing, commercial and industrial construction. Grant/Financial Assistance Programs Urban Revenue SharingUrban Revenue Sharing 2008-2009 BUDGET: $77,941,000 Unconditional Grants Urban Revenue Sharing totals $77.9 million in 2008-2009. The cities will receive $54.1 million and the towns, village and resort villages will receive $23.7 million which is a 15.6% increase from 2007 - 2008. Towns, Villages and Cities The 2008-2009 distribution for the cities is $101.52 per capita based on the 2006 census populations.
