Did You Know? From April 1, 2007 to the end of March 31, 2008, the Province of Saskatchewan received 1726 subdivision applications and approved 4251 sites. This is a 72% increase in sites approved over the 2006/07 year of 2468 sites approved. Grant/Financial Assistance Programs Saskatchewan Infrastructure Growth Initiative (SIGI)Latest News:
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs (MA), in consultation with the Saskatchewan Municipal Board (SMB), the Municipal Financing Corporation of Saskatchewan (MFC) and the municipal sector, developed the criteria and application form for the Saskatchewan Infrastructure Growth Initiative (SIGI). This program will provide municipalities with interest rate subsidies for up to five years on $300 million of municipal borrowing. The borrowing is spread over four years (2008-09 to 2011-12) at $75 million per year. The initiative is a key component of the government's growth agenda, as it will serve to provide another option to fund municipal infrastructure related to lot development. The application deadline for the 2010-11 approvals is September 30, 2009. The following table provides details on past and future deadlines:
