Municipal and provincial infrastructure and capital grant funding programs.

The full program allotment of $90.9 million of federal and provincial funds has been allocated to projects valued at more than $287 million.

The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan continue to partner with Saskatchewan municipalities (with populations less than 100,000) to invest in local infrastructure.

The Federal Gas Tax Program will provide approximately $147.7 million to Saskatchewan municipalities over five years (2005-06 to 2009-10).

This program provides per-capita infrastructure funding to municipalities to strengthen the provincial economy.

Provides financial and technical assistance to northern communities for the construction or upgrading of municipal facilities and for the acquisition of municipal equipment.

Local hockey rinks, swimming pools, and other community sites throughout the West will be eligible to receive funding for upgrades, renovations, and fix-ups.

This program will provide municipalities with interest rate subsidies for up to five years on $300 million of municipal borrowing for new infrastructure.
